As part of the Reference 800 Series the 808.3 is the highest performance CD Player manufactured by Meridian. At the heart of Meridian’s ultimate music system, 808.3 offers CD playback from an internal ROM based drive which allows for data recovery and error correction many times better than that employed in standard CD systems.
808.3 also offers an array of high-performance analog and digital inputs, including a new SpeakerLink input, as well as analog, digital and SpeakerLink outputs. These features combine with source switching and volume control enabling 808.3 to work as a high-performance pre-amplifier for other sources in the
same system.
In addition to its standard inputs, 808.3 includes an ID40 Sooloos Card, allowing it to be connected to a Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System. Once connected the ID40 cards appears as a zone within the system and renders audio for playback through any of the 808.3’s outputs. Like the 808.2 before it, 808.3 employs Meridian’s proprietary DSP based ‘apodising’ up-sampling system which helps make CDs played on the 808.3 sound like high resolution recordings.
808.3 is offered in High Gloss Black, as well as Silver, Graphite and the full range of Meridian Select Color options.

ID40 Sooloos Card enables 808.3 to connect directly to a Meridian Sooloos network. When connected the 808.3 becomes an audio endpoint for the Sooloos network and renders audio streamed directly from the digital media system. Control commands sent through the 808.3 from the supplied MSR+ remote control handset can manage music held in the Sooloos’s current Play Queue. 808.3’s DSP based audio enhancement tools process audio streamed from the Meridian Sooloos digital media system making 808.3 and ID40 Sooloos Card the highest performance audio solution available to Meridian Sooloos customers.
New analog input card provides superior analog to digital conversion compared to previous models of 808i/808.2i. This improvement in conversion technology enables superior audio performance for all analog connected sources making 808.3 a better, more valuable pre-amplifier.
